Not true. Most new editing packages (and their associated DVD apps) will
output the video. You just need to run it through a computer first.

I read somewhere that you can't burn the movies stored on your computer from the canon hf s10/s100/s11… is this true?

Thank you for your response. I guess I might have to break down and invest in upgrading my computer. I will then buy a new one and then that will be obsolete in no time.

I think you might be out of luck with the G4.. Most of the AVCHD video
editing software requires an Intel based Mac due to the tremendous amount of
compression that takes place.

My husband purchased the vixia hfs100 for me for my birthday and I love the quality of pictures and movies it records as well as how easy it is to take great pictures. I do have some questions though which I hope can be answered. I have a mac computer ibook g4 and I have tried to download the movies from this camera to my computer and It seems that this can't be done. I am now trying to find out if there is a cd burner that can burn a high definition cd and maintain the quaility of the movies and pictures that the camera has taken.
